The Girls Take New York!!!

I went on a fabulous girls trip last month to New York. We had a blast, just girls! No husbands or kids, the four days flew by!

On the subway

After seeing "Jersey Boys" on broadway (LOVED it!!!).

After the play in Time Square *(right before Lindsey almost chased some knock off purse salesmen)

We went on a movie tour, lots of fun stuff to see

Week of Firsts

We had ourselves a whole week of firsts. We had Logan's first day of school (which parents attended), then his first "real" day of school (when I didn't go), then Brynlee's first day of nursery at church! It was a big week, with mom feeling like her kids are growing so fast!

I wish we had a pool, or a good one near us. My kids could swim every day. It's my fault, but its usually a fashion show for Brynlee! Logan just loves to splash around.Brynlee doesn't care for cold water though.

Grammie Camp

My mom came to town last week to have "Grammie Camp". It was a VERY busy few days, and so much fun!
We hit the splash park The only pictures I got of Owen look like this. He never stopped running the entire time.

We also made it to the Air Force Museum and to my house for a sleep over.

Allergy Testing

Logan had to have allergy testing done after being sick for the better part of the last year. We knew he had asthma, but we needed to figure out what he was allergic to that was causing the asthma. It was an awful hour, but we got some good answers. We now know what to avoid, and the best medications to help him stay healthy!
(Dan didnt understand taking pictures! I didnt get any pictures of how nasty his back got, we had to hold him down because it felt like his back was on fire!)

Mini Captain Hook

Logan is obsessed with Captain Hook. He is so funny, when we ask him if Captain Hook is nice or naughty, he alway says Captian Hook is nice. If you ask him what Captain Hook says, the answer is "Mr. Smeeeeeee!". He also makes awesome sword sound effects!Logan giving his best pirate glare

MS Walk

We enjoy going to the MS walk every year (or every year we are here) to support my Brother in Law Tyson. I love that we can go to show our support and show him how greatful we are he is part of our lives. (We love you Tyson!)

This year it was unseasonably cold. It snowed on us. Brynlee was ticked.It was so loud and cold, she pretty much cried the entire time unless I was carrying her.

Grandpa was so great to run with Logan while I carried Brynlee.

I did't plan on posting anything about this. I think everything is just starting to hit me. I like to look back on my blog to see what we were doing when, I guess I need to remember this too. I don't really think many people read my blog anymore anyways!

We have been absent for the last month or two. Basically absent from life. I found out right after Brynlee's birthday we were pregnant with twins. Huge shock. As my pregnancies go, I have been down and out sick since then. At only 10 weeks we lost both babies. Dan was able to be home for 10 whole days, which has been amazing.

Dan goes back to work tomorrow, it is time to (try to) get back to life. Taking a bottle away from one kid, potty training another awaits us. It probably wont be a fun week tackling those activities but I am going to spend each moment appreciating the two babies I have.

We had a pretty laid back day on Brynlee's birthday. Dan was out of town so it was just the kids and I. I told Logan we could take B out to lunch, he picked Chick-fil-A. Big surprise. Lincoln James Anderson

I am going to post out of order here because I am really excited to post this! (I have Brynlee's birthday and birthday party coming soon). I throw a pretty wild party, on Sunday night after Brynlee's party Tara went home and into labor. We now have the most beautiful perfect nephew born on Valentines day! (I am seriously tempted to call him Romeo). I was finally able to go down to Riverton to meet the little guy today. He is TINY! Way smaller than either of my kids. Here's the new mom and dad at B's party. Little did we know Lincoln would be here in 12 hours!

Brynlee's Year in Review

Brynlee is ONE!!! Our little girl has had one busy first year, she has already lived in 3 states! I was so sick every single day I was pregnant, I was SO ready for Brynlee to come! I am so glad she was early!
She was such an easy, sweet baby right from the start.at one month old Brynlee was put back into the hospital. I don't think I have ever been so scared in my whole life. Here she is shortly after having her PICC line inserted.2 months old, almost back to normal and healthy.3 months old on her blessing day4 months old5 months old at a concert in the park6 months old7 months old, on her first hay ride
8 months old

I Admit It...

I am willing to admit it. I am a bad mom. I have had the hardest time taking Logan's binky away. He only gets it when going to bed, and according to Dan I have had "good excuses" for over a year now not to take it away. Dan finally forced the issue and we (mostly him) decided its time. We talked at length about it with Logan and we came up with a plan that included 3 of his loves. His binky, the moon, and airplanes. We decided we would take his binky to the aerospace museum and leave it with an airplane to fly it to the moon.
Before we left that morning he willingly put his binky in his pocket to take. He was so excited to see all the airplanes!I love this picture. Logan is such a mini Dan Logan and Brynlee in the learning center

Logan's Aunt Becky let Logan take home a scoop of guppies when we were at her house the other night. I thought one scoop wouldn't have too many fish in it... after getting home I counted 26! Logan was in heaven going to Walmart alone with his Daddy for a fish tank and supplies. He loved setting everything up for his new "fishies".

Tara's First Baby Shower

We had such a fun Halloween party with the Andersons this year! I love that everybody gets into it and comes dressed up. We decided to all go beach theme. I made Brynlee a hula girl outfit, and made a jelly fish outfit for myself.Logan went as a shark, Dan went Hawiaan style.There was lots of candy... Dan's parents, one of his sisters, and her husband came to visit us for a few days. Now that we live in CA when people come to visit, they want to go to Disneyland. I love that we have passes and can go along! We had a great visit, we wish everyone else could have come!

First Big Accident

Today I had my first big accident with one of my kids. They have been sick and things like that, but never had to be rushed to the doctor because they were hurt. We were playing at a friends house when Logan stepped backwards off their porch and smacked his face on the edge of the porch. He immediatly had blood dripping everywhere, including his new shirt and mine. I basically left Brynlee there and ran right out of the house and down to instacare. He was so brave, he had to get 7 stitches. He cried a little for his dad (who is out of town, of course), but he was so good and held still for 6 of the 7 stitches. It could have been that I promised him ice cream and a train if he was good. I just felt so bad for him! Our fun little bruch/playdate ended way too fast, I didn't even get any pictures there! We will have to do it again soon ladies!

We took Logan to Disneyland a few weeks ago. We got passes so we have been back, but that first trip was so sweet (and hot!). Logan was so excited to go on the train!

First Beach Trip

I took Logan and Brynlee to the beach for the first the other day. All my sisters and my mom came. We had so much fun, Logan loved the sand. He loved the water. He loved it all. He loved coming home dirty and jumping right into the pool (he has his first swim lesson right after the beach).

Logan and Sophie are "BFC". Best Friend Cousins... most of the time. They will run around and giggle together, then fight really bad, then 30 seconds later be giggling again. My parents set up their backyard drive in movie screen the other night so we could watch the original Parent Trap. Logan and Sophie were hanging out, just sharing a chair! They are just so cute.

We have enjoyed going to story time at the zoo each week this summer. I am so sad to not be able to finish the summer out. Miss Em is such a neat lady, she is so sweet to us! She always asks if we will be coming back, and even this week she brought special things to show just us. She is also a funny lady, this week she told me how she has a real stuffed armadillo she always has in the back seat of her car! Here she is telling us a story about a snake (with a live snake wrapped around her legs)

The other day Logan got his bear all set up in the lowered high chair to feed it lunch. He is such a sweet little guy! We have caught him several times trying to give his sister sips of milk or juice from his sippy cup or have found fruit snacks in her mouth. Our little zoo has story time during the summer once a week. It is such a fun little activity, they read a story about an animal and then actually introduce that animal. Last week was a story about a rabbit and a turtle.If you ask Logan what a bunny does he uses his finger to scrunch his nose up! Worry

I sometimes worry that I am going to forget. Logan is growing up so fast, will I remember his soft little voice calling out "Mommy"?

Will I remember how it feels to kiss his squishy cheeks

or hold his little hand?

I want to remember how his soft giggle sounds like bells ringing to me,

and how he loves to say goodbye or night-night.

I need to remember the times I catch him singing to Brynlee or gently tucking her blanket around her.

I want to remember how he loves to dance and sing.

I want to remember when his favorite word was "cool". I want to learn how to stop and enjoy the sweet moments

when he wants to cuddle with me,when he needs me,

or when he sweetly asks me to help him.

I worry about what his life will hold.

Will he grow to be strong, healthy, loving, and gentle? Will he face amazing trials, or will he have an easier life?

Are we giving him the tools he needs to be a

strong, educated leader?

...but I think for now I will focus on holding that tiny man for as long as he will let me.

Logan's favorite little buddy is Woody from Toy Story. He loves Woody, and takes him everywhere. Logan turned 2 last Sunday. We did lots of fun stuff last week leading up to his birthday. He took his favorite snacks to nursery last week (cookies and fruit snacks). He is such a sweet kid! He loves his sister (most times) and is really starting to understand how to help take care of her. He is really goofy and loves to tease. He will do just about anything to get a laugh. He loves music and to dance. Most days I can find him somewhere singing to himself or one of his toys! He loves to help around the house, especially unloading the dishwasher and vacuuming. His favorite animal to see at the zoo is the fish or giraffes. He loves to be on the go, in the car, going wherever. He loves his Daddy and tries to do everything like him. When Dan is at work Logan constantly talks about him. "This is Dad's" or "Daddy's bike cool". oh... and he loves little girls. Wherever we are he usually finds a little girl to follow around!Here he is enjoying his birthday ice cream sunday.

While I was staying at my parents my cousin Michele drove down for a few days. She has a little boy 8 months older than Logan, and a little girl 8 months older that Brynlee. I am basically just 8 months behind her. I am going to worry if she gets pregnant again because I will know whats coming in 8 months!

Discovery Science Museum

We went to the Discovery Science Museum in Orange County. It was really fun, with lots of hands on stuff to do. Perfect for active little boys

Logan really liked the dinasour exhibit. You could climb up into the inside of a 2 story dinasour. You could make its heart beat and see his digestive system.

Fishing With Grandpa

Logan is so lucky to have such a fun grandpa. My dad was going fishing on the ocean one day while we were there and he worked it out so Logan could come for a bit. After they fished all day Logan met them at the dock so my dad could take him back out.

At my aunts house one night Logan got to try smores! He was in heaven. One of my favorite memories of staying at my aunts when we were little was making smores over the stove. Thanks Aunt Marcia for still being the fun aunt to my kids too!

While we were in Utah Dan was able to spend Sunday with us and bless our baby. He gave Brynlee an amazing blessing, we were so happy to have almost all our families with us (we missed Scott, Whitney and Ryan!). Logan looked awesome all dressed up, but he was a little tired and ready for a nap.

Why is Utah getting snow the first week in may? We have lots to blog about when we get home. Logan has been playing with his second cousin, we went to the science museum, lots of swimming, and even ocean fishing on a boat with his grandpa! Logan can be such a little monster. He is so curious and in to EVERYTHING! Today I turned my back for about 10 seconds, and he came running out of his room covered in baby powder! I still have no clue how he was able to reach it.His bedroom had the most damageand I couldn't help but take pictures of the little foot prints in the powderand as you all know Logan is a nudist, when I stripped him down to his diaper he decided to finish the job. He was really mad when I made him put clean clothes on... I think he would love to live naked all the time!How could I stay mad at this cute little face?

Miss B is 2 Months Old!

Our Miss Brynlee is 2 months old! She has had a rough few months, we hope the next few will go better (with less hospital and doctor visits!).
At 2 months she is in the 10% for height, and 50% for weight! She loves to eat, and she is just getting the hang of big smiles. Most of all she still loves to be swaddled by her dad, he can wrap a baby tighter than anyone I have ever seen.
She has already been in the hospital, had to go under anesthesia, and has been prayed for by so many. She has been to the Clinton Library, taken a ride on the trolley, and even seen the Peabody Ducks. We are enjoying our little B so much, and we can't wait to take her in a few weeks to meet all her family!

Logan loves when Brynlee with lay in his bed with him and he can read to her. He is such a sweet big brother... when he wants to be!
Logan and Brynlee also just shared their first bath. It went well until he threw a ball at her head. We will probably wait a while to try that again.

Trolley Cars and Peabody Ducks

Today we went to downtown Little Rock to ride the trolley cars. Logan is obsessed with all things that have wheels. Busses, trucks, cars, trains. He had a blast, and I think Dan enjoyed it just as much! While we were on the train it has a stop at the Peabody Hotel where the Peabody Ducks march. It was so fun to stop and see. The duckmaster gathers the ducks out of their duck palace, marches them down the glass elevator, and into the fountain.Logan really thought those ducks were "cool" (his new word. He walks around saying "it's coo")
I wish we would have done the trolley when we first moved here, it pointed out lots of things we want to go explore now!

Lions, Oh My!!!

We went to the Little Rock Zoo today! The weather was beautiful and it was so nice to get out and see something Logan could really enjoy! He really liked seeing the giraffes

Dan told me to go ahead and get in the picture tooThe second after Dan took this picture the lion leaped up onto the glass and was trying to attack. Logan darted off to get behind Dan, and instinctively went right down to protect Brynlee who was in the wrap. I know there was glass between us, but it was automatic. Dan thought it scared me so bad I had fallen over. He could hardly breath he was laughing so hard... he even continued to take pictures!I know I exaggerate some stories, but ask Dan, I am not exaggerating at all. This lion was looking for food and thought my babies looked good! I banged my knee up pretty goodand sweet little B slept through the whole thing!I am sure if anyone else was in the lion area with us they would have been laughing too. I'm glad Dan got a good laugh, and he promised if I would post these pictures then I could post the pictures of him on his new scooter.

A Sunday Walk

On Sunday we decided to take a family walk at the Arkansas Arboretum. It was so beautiful there, even though it is already pretty hot and humid!

Update on Brynlee

Our poor sweet baby Brynlee has been sick lately. It started with a UTI and was discovered to have an ecoli bacterial infection in her blood. She was in the hospital, then home with a picc line in for antibiotics. Now her blood work has been coming back with abnormal results. Her blood count is all over the place and she is neutropenic (a disorder with her blood that could mean anything from a common cold to luekemia). We will get new blood tests back tomorrow that will hopefully give us more answers, we are praying they are good answers.

While Brynlee has been sick my mom came out for a few days to help with the kids. We were so glad she could come, especially Logan! While she was here we decided to finish up the nursery. We now have new curtains, new bedding on Logans bed, and a few new wall hangings. Everytime I go into Logans room he is so excited to point out all his new stuff! Our St. Patrick's day started so great! We had green oatmeal for breakfast

and we made homemade green flour tortillas for tacos with lunch

While Logan was napping we got a call from Brynlee's doctor who said we needed to immediately get to the hospital. Blood work we had done the day before came back positive for a bacterial infection. We got to the hospital and they had to do several more tests including a lumbar puncture or spinal tap. We were so grateful the tests came back negative for meningitis or something worse.(all the nurses loved her colorful outfits and blankets. She still looked stylish even if she was in the hospital!)

Brynlee spent 3 days in the hospital and we were able to bring her home tonight. She has a pic line that we will learn to administer antibiotics through everyday, we are just so glad our sweet little girl will be okay! We were so lucky we had offers to take Logan, and lots of people who brought stuff for us just to make our stay easier!(there were a lot more treats, magazines, and even clothes and blankets for Brynlee). We are so lucky to have such a great support system so far from home!

I realized I haven't taken any pictures with the kids since Brynlee was born. They were dressed cute to go to a friends for dinner on Sunday so here we all are!Logan thought Dan was going to leave without him so he did not want to sit and take a picture! 4 Weeks Old

Brynlee is 4 weeks old today. I can't believe it has only been 4 weeks, it just seems like she has been with us all along! We went to the doctor today. She is growing but still tiny! She weighs 8 pounds 15 ounces (25 %), and she is 20 inches (only 10%).
She has been an easy baby for the most part, but nothing compared to the easy baby Logan was. I don't think any child will ever be as easy as Logan was!

Today is Brynlee's due date. I am SO grateful she came early so I don't have to be sick anymore! Right now I weigh more than 20 pounds less than when I found out I was pregnant with her, who loses that much weight when they are pregnant? Brynlee Louise arrived by surprise this morning at 10:11 am. I was overdue with Logan and really keeping my fingers crossed it wouldn't happen again. Last night I started having contractions and went right into labor on my own! I had some pretty scary problems with my low blood pressure, but once we got it worked out everything went great! We are so happy she is here and healthy.

He gave her a kiss, gave her his binky, but then wanted to show us where her eyes are by screaming "eyes" right in her face and poking her eyes! We will have to work on that. (Doesn't Daddy look so happy! Brynlee already has Dan wrapped around her finger) I am so happy to have both my babies here, and everyone is happy and healthy. Most of all I am glad I am not pregnant anymore!

Ice Storm

First you hit up Walmart for supplies (and you let your kid wear a hat that is too small on him because it makes him happy)

You bring your outdoor toys inside just for something to do

When you are sick of your mom and dad, you demand your personal space

With only 2 weeks left until my due date we are making some progress to be ready. Almost everything is clean and put away, we have Logan's care squared away, and we are all cranky to get the show on the road. We STILL need to pick a name and finish up a few little things. Due Date Downer

After seeing my new doctor last week he decided to push my due date back a week. My new due date is February 21st, just one week later than we had thought. I am really ready to be done with this pregnancy (and ready to not be sick anymore!). I guess to look at the upside we have an extra week to pick out names (we are still at a loss what to name our little girl), and an extra week to get things together (I have absolutly nothing ready)! Hopefully I don't go past my due date like last time, we will be ready for her whenever she wants to come... even if we have to call her "Baby Girl Anderson" for a while! Visit with the Pickles

Becky and Scott brought their family out to visit for a few days this week. We had so much fun, and Logan loved playing with his cousins! Dan and I loved having 3 kids around to entertain Logan so we could have a break. We went and stayed overnight in Memphis one night, sharing a room with Logan is not fun. Dan and I ended up sitting in the hallway for about 45 minutes while we waited for Logan to fall asleep. He is such an only child, he likes it really dark and quiet to fall asleep. What is he going to do when there is a baby around?!
On Monday I fulfilled a lifetime dream of going to visit Elvis' home known only as GRACELAND! I LOVED IT!!! I loved how everything was decorated (so gaudy), and how elaborate everything was. It was a little surprising that he house really isn't that huge by today's standards, but oh so amazing! It wasn't easy for me to walk around all of Graceland with only a few weeks left until we have our baby, but it was worth it! They wouldn't let you take pictures with your flash on, so a lot of our pictures didn't turn out great. His front room was all white with a 14 foot couchhis upstairs was always private to him, and still is.In the dining room. The chandelier in the back didn't help the no flash pictureI liked the sitting room downstairs with 3 TVs and sequin pillows (I also loved the pool room that was covered wall to wall and ceiling with busy fabric, but none of my pictures turned out). The jungle roomIn the backyard Dan and Logan next to Elvis' gold suit. I probably should have told Dan I was taking a picture!The fountain by the graves was iced over, it was SO cold!I guess people still send Elvis flowers and stuff for his grave. Some of the things had been sent for his birthday that had been a few days earlierThere are a bunch more pictures I would love to share, but I figured I should just add hi-lights!
We ate at this southern BBQ place in Memphis. It is one of those places that isn't very nice, not very good service, but the food is amazing! I will be craving it until we go back to eat there again. We also went to the National Civil Rights Museum located at the Loraine Hotel where Dr. Martin Luther King, JR. was assassinated. We didn't have a lot of time there because we got there at the end of the day, but I'm glad we made it. It was a really moving place to visit. There are 2 buildings, and we only made it through 1.
The Pickles came back to Little Rock with us. Logan loves having visitors! We mostly just played and hung out. I enjoyed eating out, I don't think we have eaten out since we got our kitchen settled after moving. On Wednesday we went to Lake Willastein park. Logan made Rilee follow him around and was able to demand which slide he wanted to go down. Hopefully she had fun, Logan was in heaven.
After the park we stopped at another authentic southern BBQ place just for the experience. We went to the Whole Hog Barbecue Cafe, but people here usually pronounce it "The Ho Hawg"! We had lots of people tell us to try it and it was amazing! Different than the place in Memphis, but very southern. There was a big old guy hanging out in the front wearing overalls. All the ladies inside asked me about me "baby". (People here call your kids "baby" until they are like 6 years old. I guess Logan is kind of still a baby, but he looks older than 2! They were a little curious about us having 2 babies, one right after another). It was a great southern experience to go!
It was so fun to have visitors, Thanks Becky and Scott for coming all the way here!

Catching Up

Now that my computer is working I can get the pictures off my camera. Logan and I were gone for 17 days in December while we went to California and Utah to visit family. While in Utah my siters hosted a little dinner for me as a baby shower. It was so nice to get together with my family and Dans family and a few friends. (this was the only picture I took with everyone and I had my flash turned off!)
Logan got to see Santa at Leslie's ward Christmas party... he was not a fan

When we got back to California Grandpa took Logan on a ride on his forklift. Logan was SO excited! He loved driving in around and how loud it is. My dad even let him push the lever that makes the fork part go up and down.
Logan and I made it home to spend Christmas with Dan. I didn't do a very good job of taking pictures Christmas morning because my family watched him open his presents on skype. His favorite present was the big dump truck you can ride on!
Also a few days after Christmas we got to open presents from Dan's parents that they had mailed to us.
Logan got a new tool belt from my Aunt Marcia for Christmas. He loves to wear it around the house, but always without a shirt on.
Over New Years Leslie came out to visit for a few days. I (of course) didn't really take any pictures. I took a few when we took Leslie to see the "Big Dam Bridge". Dan thinks it is an awesome name!

Logan has really gotten into coloring. He knows exactly where all his coloring stuff is (out of reach because he still likes to eat the crayons occasionally so I don't trust him to color on his own) and he will stand there screaming for his coloring books. He is very demanding! This morning he played with his sticker book with Dan (I just realized this is upside down, sorry) And he colored with me this afternoon
I LOVE that we are now a family with artwork on the fridge!!!
